Simultaneous interpreting

As the name suggests, the interpreter speaks at roughly the same time as the user. It can take several forms:

The most common form is the one we know from conferences and the EU where interpreters sit in a cabin while interpreting for short periods at a time.

Another form is whispered interpreting, which is used when the user needs to understand what is going on without disturbing other people. In some cases equipment is used, enabling several people to listen in.
